#RWC2015 Semi Final Round Up – Paint the town black and gold

What a weekend! Two excellent Semi Finals, sending Australia and New Zealand through to the tournament’s final next weekend at England rugby HQ, Twickenham.

Semi Final one ended with current champions New Zealand afforded the chance of retaining the title for the first time in World Cup history.  The All Blacks were in control for most of the match and, even though the final score was marginal, managed to do just enough to snatch victory.  The Springbok’s defense, whist defiant,  just wasn’t enough to knock McCaw’s men off their pedestal.

But it would be another 24 hours until the finalists were to find out who they would face on all Hallows eve for a chance to lift the sport’s most wanted piece of silverware.

The second Semi was another southern hemisphere clash, as the Wallabies took on the Pumas.

#VamosPumas failed to achieve the start they needed and the Wallabies secured two early tries.  Sanchez looked to narrow the gap, but the loss of captain creevy and Imhoff, and an unfortunate yellow card incident take their toll on the Argentinians.  It was Australia’s day, and Adam Ashley Cooper’s too, the winger scoring an impressive hattrick to boomerang the Wallabies into their first final since 2003.

Oh, and this happened too… Awesome sauce;)

The final countdown…

Next week’s clash will see these two giants go head to head for the first time in World Cup final history, and it is all set to be a highly competitive affair!

A new batch of gingerbread are poised and ready. Let’s get ready to crumble!!
