About

“Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a licence to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.” – Simon Pegg

DSC_3429I have never been ashamed to call myself a “geek”- it does, after all mean that you get to openly admit that you like cool stuff, such as space, cult movies and dinosaurs et cetera! By day I am a commercial contracts lawyer, living and working in Cardiff, Wales, but at all other times, I enjoy immersing myself in all things geek-chic, whether that is hosting themed parties for my friends and family, or visiting amazing places that have fascinated me since childhood.

Whilst the content of this blog may seem a little haphazard at times, to me this is truly the essence of “geek-chic”. It really is a blog about everything that interests me and documents the events I plan, which may, or may not be an inspiration for events that you may also wish to host.

As Space Monkey, my mission is simple: To offer snapshots of the amazing things around us that go unnoticed to many, with the hope that such insights will awaken even the smallest glimmer of the inner geek that exists in us all.

  1. Hey there Eve! Just clicking around the blogosphere and commenting on blogs that I think are fun and interesting, and you’re one of them. October is my birthday month, so consider this an invitation to my month-long birthday party. Hope to see you over at That’s So Jacob sometime!
